Storify

I recently discovered Storify, a really interesting visual tool which brings together feeds from all of your favorite social networking sites.  To experiment, I did a quick search using "E. H. Butler Library" and was surprised to find Twitter comments and YouTube clips from our students. I combined these with useful links about our services and resources to create an instant advertisement for the library (which I then posted on Facebook). Check out E. H. Butler's Storify page here. The marketing and outreach possibilities for this are endless: library events (orientation, open house!), subject specific resource guides, student projects, and research guides (just try a search for "writing a research paper" and you'll see what I mean).  I also think that this platform supports the use of visual literacy initiatives, and if used properly, could be an innovative way for students to organize and present research.
